We’ve been hearing about Apple’s proposed ‘Spaceship’ campus now for some time, but new images of a scale model of the building revealed today give us an even closer look. Along with the images in the San Jose Mercury News, Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer has outlined some of the thoughts behind the new construction:

”The concept of the building is collaboration and fluidity. It’ll provide a very open-spaced system, so that at one point in the day you may be in offices on one side of the circle and find yourself on the other side later that day.”

Apple is now preparing for a final vote in front of the Cupertino City Council on October 15, ahead of a scheduled completion in 2015 or 2016. While the models show off the courtyard, parking facilities and a detached fitness and wellness center, it’s all about the circular main building we know as the Spaceship. Apple claims it’s designed this way for "walkability," but whatever the reason, it’s a mightily impressive looking structure.

What do you think to Apple’s proposed new campus? Typically ambitious design, or a little too far? For more images be sure to visit the source link below.
