Robin Williams was Mork from Ork. He was Popeye. He was Mrs. Doubtfire. He was Adrian Cronauer. He was John Keating. He was Armand Goldman. He was the Genie of the Lamp. He was Comic Relief. He was a San Francisco area resident and Macworld Expo attendee. His voice launched Apple’s Your Verse campaign. Comedian, dramatist, activist, entertainer. He was Robin Williams. He passed away last night and he will be missed.
Williams’ work spanned generations and touched innumerable lives. Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, wrote the following:
Heartbroken by the news of Robin Williams’ passing. He was an incomparable talent and a great human being. Rest in peace.

Apple has also set up a page on iTunes honoring Williams’ work.
We’ll be doing a special episode of ZEN & TECH later this week on dealing with depression. Because even in tragedy, there is the chance for hope.
